UV Lights in Compliance with The Boeing Co’s Requirements

The Boeing Co. has not published an official document for UV LED lights but has provided sufficient guidelines of what is acceptable for use in non-destructive testing by its employees, contractors and vendors. Each Labino UV LED light referred to in this section adopts these guidelines. All Boeing Co. compliant products are listed on page 8 of the 2023 catalog.

Please be advised that generic UV lights that have several UV LEDs mounted within a few millimeters from one another in a small housing create an excessive amount of heat which significantly shortens the life of the LEDs. Due to the small housing and large number of LEDs you cannot observe the LEDs failing as there is still some light coming out, albeit diminishing rapidly, unable to verify compliance with ASTM E3022 and consequently NADCAP checklists. ASTM E3022 requires that critical components such as failed LEDs be replaced before use.

Inspector KITs for NDT

The ultimate inspector kit, "Stockholm" (PN: K001) to carry field inspections in a professional and reliable manner. All UV lights included are tested and certified to comply with ASTM E3022-18.

UV lights in the standard kit can be replaced with other models within the same series upon request. Selected UV models from each Series have been tested to comply with ASTM E3022-18, Rolls-Royce RRES 90061 and Airbus AITM6-1001.

Members of the US military should ask for PN: K002 as it has been customized to meet USAF requirements.

Three additional KITs are available, Gothenburg (PN: K003), Malmo (PN: K004) and Uppsala (PN: K005), if not all four units are required.

BB 2.0 Ikaros UV LED light

Powerful, penetrant resistant and with an Ingress Protection 68 (IP68 Waterproof).

Beam profile is the largest and smoothest than any other portable UV LED light on the market today. The BB 2.0 Ikaros model has a beam diameter of 10.6 inches / 27 cm and with intensities that does not exceed ≈ 5 000 μW/cm2.

UVG3 2.0 Floodlight UV LED flashlight

Powerful, penetrant resistant UV LED flashlight and with an Ingress Protection 68 (IP68 Waterproof). Ideal for inspectors to carry on the NDT floor for quick inspections. This is an extremely light and compact UV LED Flashlight.

How to identify fake EX products video

If anyone offers you an explosion proof product, you should ask for

(a) the certification number

(b) who the auditor is

and check its authenticity online (www.iecex-certs.com). Manufacturers are obligated to share this information in their marketing literature. All certificates can be retrieved online, on the auditors website. There are fake explosion proof products from China, some re-branded, without certifications, distributed in the USA and Europe today. Don´t take "trust me" for an answer. You do not want an uncertified product on an oil rig or a refinery.
